Support and Maintenance of Networks
Today's enterprise is increasingly reliant on its IT infrastructure as a fundamental tool of business. In many cases loss of availability is unacceptably costly in terms of production and opportunity cost. With more staff working on the road or at home, or in conjunction with clients or colleagues around the globe, the sun never sets as far as IT systems are concerned and the scope of availability has extended dramatically. It is no longer acceptable merely to respond to disruptive incidents. The pressure on the IT supplier, in house or outsourced, is to be able to provide a consistent, reliable service 24 hours of every day.
SMB Networks can provide support for all IT-related issues from desktop applications, to enterprise-grade mail servers. We support most major computer platforms and systems. The aim of our support services is to ensure your company:
• Can deal with system failures quickly and efficiently, without unnecessary disruption;
• Has skilled advice on the direction to take when performing IT upgrades and purchases. Thus ensuring your business gains the maximum competitive advantage from I.T. expenditure, whilst keeping costs to a minimum;
• Has support for applications and computer hardware running within the business;
SMB Networks offers a comprehensive range of cost effective
support packages to suit most needs and budgets with guaranteed
response times and professional telephone support.
We provide network support contracts that ensure
your IT systems are kept in the best possible health. Our
automated network monitoring systems can warn us of potential
problems before they become critical, so we can deal with them
proactively. With a remote support link to your site we can
respond immediately to most support issues and resolve them
within minutes.
Whether you want to outsource all of your network support or simply require second-line support for existing staff, we can provide the specialist skills and experience to help you.
Secure Offsite Backup
Automatic Backup
Backup sets are configured to run unattended during non office
hours, the backup client maintains a log of backups that have
taken place and any files skipped, these logs can be emailed to
a nominated person and allow you (and SMB) to keep track of all
backup jobs scheduled.
Centralized Data Storage
SMB Networks’ Offsite Backup solution is a client/server backup
solution that contains two components: the Data Repository
software (residing on our servers) and the Client software
(installed onto your servers). The Data Repository manages the
Backup Clients and stores their backup data.
Fast Incremental Backups
After your initial computer backup, only new or changed files
are included in the backup process. Backing up just your
changes shortens the backup time and reduces storage
requirements and network traffic.
In certain cases we recommend taking a full backup nightly of certain data sets for example your Accounts data, in these cases SMB Networks will configure scripts that are run prior to the backup taking place, these scripts compress all the selected data into a single file, this file is then backed up with all other data that has changed since the last backup.
Supports Microsoft Exchange Servers
Additional modules are available to backup your exchange server
data, this includes all user mailboxes and public folder data.
Due to the amount of data that can be in the exchange store and
bandwidth limits available on ADSL we recommend that the
exchange data is backed only once a week and that this backup
take place over the weekend.
Supports Windows Registry Database Backup
Your computer cannot run unless it has a Windows Registry
database. This database contains your Windows configuration,
plus information about all the applications installed on your
computer, and even the Domain Controller in the case of Windows
NT/2000/2003.
Security Minded
While encrypting your backup files, obscuring filenames and
password protecting your data, other built-in safeguards keep
the Data Repository safe. The Data Repository does not initiate
restorations and does not transmit its presence to keep your
data away from hackers and prying eyes.
